Las Vegas comes to Cookley Care Home!
Westley Court care Home brought as Vegas to Cookley with a day of activities held on 24th November.
Residents and staff were serenaded at the event by an Elvis impersonator, in a tribute to the popular singer.
A Vegas-style casino was set up at the home, with residents being able to gamble with chips on games such as roulette, black jack and craps.
Diane Day, the home’s activities coordinator, said: “The Las Vegas day was a great event for everyone at the home to get involved in.
“We decided to organise the event as something a bit different for our residents who loved seeing the Elvis impersonator in action. A lot of them really enjoy listening to that style of music and being able to reminisce.
“Westley Court are always looking for different events and activities for the residents and we hope that the Vegas-themed activities will be a big hit.”

Summer Garden Party a great success
Westley Court care home held it's first summer Garden Party on Saturday 22nd August. This event was a great success and raised £120.00 for the residents funds.
Entertainment was provided on the day along with stalls, cream tea's and a special visit from the Wyre Forest Dog rescue.

Care home set for animal magic
A giant bunny called Hercules is set to pay a special visit to a Cookley care home.
Westley Court Care Home, in Austcliffe Lane, will welcome a host of unusual creatures when mobile zoo Animal Mania drops into the home on Tuesday (JUL 14).
Residents will be able to meet a selection of animals during the visit, including snakes, chinchillas, tortoises and dragon lizards.
Hercules, a huge continental giant bunny from Holland, is set to be the star of the show.
Diane Day, the home’s activities coordinator, said everyone at the home was looking forward to the visit.
“The mobile zoo will be a real treat for residents as they will be able to get up close and personal with a variety of different species,” she said.
“It is a wonderful opportunity for residents to learn more about the animals, as well as being able to see and touch them.
“It promises to be a really enjoyable day for all the staff and residents at Westley Court.”

Paulo Entertains the residents at Westley
An afternoon of entertainment was held this week with a performance by Paulo Pinto at Westley Court care Home in Cookley.
Paulo sang to the residents and staff from an extensive set list including, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra and Engelbert Humperdinck to name just a few.
A Fantastic afternoon was had by all.
