Mentoring and Support

We value our work colleagues and will seek to support and develop you throughout your career with us.  All new starters will be afforded sufficient supernumerary time and shadow shifts, will receive a full induction programme, and will be “buddied” up with an experienced staff member for your first 12 weeks in post.

Subsequent to this induction programme you will have regular supervision with a named supervisor and, for senior staff, you will also receive an annual appraisal.

For Qualified Staff

Additional mentoring and support for Qualified staff includes support with Revalidation, Clinical Updates, Group and Individual Supervision and Nurse Development Days.  This structured support, together with regular specialist training, provides a framework to ensure your skills are continually developed during your career with us.

Career Development Opportunities

We believe that we offer our colleagues fantastic opportunities for career and personal development.  Our career pathway for Carers enables the development and progression to Senior Carers, Compliance Support, Nursing Assistants and, in conjunction with an appropriate course, Qualified nurses.

For our Nursing staff, opportunities exist for experience in management, compliance and service administration, through supernumerary shifts, that can lead to progression to Unit Leads and other management positions.

In addition to the career progression opportunities available to both carers and nurses, the variety of services we provide present further opportunity for experience and development through secondment and transfer.  We have had a number of staff move between services and benefit from the additional experience this brings.
